CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Co-Curricular Activities are conducted Class-wise and House-wise. The students are divided into Eight Houses to form the acronym ‘SAPTRANG’ representing the seven colours of rainbow or seven colours of Talents/Arts, each house is named after some eminent personalities of various fields. They are as follows:

Distribution of Houses as follows:

There are only seven sections in class XI, XII. The students are allotted their houses based on their roll. number e.g. Roll No.-1 belongs to Sarojini House, Roll No.-2 belongs to Ashoka House, 3 to Premchand House, 4 to Tagore and so on, the same sequence will be reapted in all classes. A special care is taken to ensure that each house should have the same number of students.

All the Class – Coordinators organize the activities in their classes according the C.C.A. Calendar. The class coordinators are as follows:

ACHIEVMENTS IN CCA:

  • Kumari Renu of class VIII of KV JNU is awarded the consolation Prize in the “ On the Spot  Painting Competition conducted by SAARC Documentation Centre(SDC), New Delhi to commemorate the SAARC charter Day.

         

    Certificate of Participation Awarded to Piyush Kumar KV JNU Campus for participating in American Centre Spelling Bee Competition 2008, New Delhi

        

    Spell Vocab Challenger Contest organized by Mother Dairy in association with Times of India. Kumari Akanksha, IX-C and Shashwat of VII-E excelled in Spell Vocab contest Challenger 2008 in Round I

     

    Hindi Academy Delhi honored 22 students of KVJNU with Student Talent Award 2007–08 on 10th – 12th January 2009  at National Bal Bhawan , New Delhi. These Students Scored 85% and above Marks in the CBSE Board Exam 2008 of Class 10th and 12th in Hindi

     
  • School organized career counseling by IAF, NCERT & other agencies. Self defense programme for girls in collaboration with the Directorate of Home Guards and Civil Defense Govt. of NCT. All girls from IX to XII were trained. It was held from 22nd April 2006 to 27th April 2006.     Kiran Bedi also visited Vidyalaya and gave presentation & motivated students on 3rd May 2006.
  • SPIC-MACAY workshop organized in Vidyalaya from 3rd May 2006 to 5th May 2006 for Indian Classical Music, Manipuri Dance, Yoga, Calligraphy & Animation in pictures based in Innovation in Drawing & Painting.
  • Under Health Programme Counseling & Awareness of growing up process for students of classes VII & VIII held on 19th July 2006.
  • Indian Institute of Planning & Management organized Antakshari Contest held on 22nd April 2006 and Debate Competition during the Cicero’s Challenge 2006. Priyanka Kapoor, Suruchi, Preeti in Antakshari Contest and Iti Chaturvedi, Manushi Gupta in Debate Competition got 2nd Runner Prize as Rs. 666/- received as a cheque.
  • Sixth All India Cyber Olympiad organized by National Olympiad Foundation on 26th August 2006. Nikita Chadha, IX F got First Position and won a laptop, Trophy and certificate
  • School organized Debate Competition & Painting Competition in collaboration with Mahila Vikas Sansthan on Population & Environmental Protection on 17th & 26th February 2006 respectively.
  • Creative Writing and Story Writing Competition organized by KATHA (N.G.O.) on Katha Utsav for Celebrating 60 Years of Indian Independence on 24th August 2007. at India Habitat Centre.
  • International Innovation Day on 15th October 2006.
  • In KVS Ninth Junior Mathematic Olympiad Master Bonis Tomar and Vidit of class XII got 27th and 28th rank respectively in the merit of among first 500 students in KVS.
  •  KVS(DR) Inter-School Elocution Competition held during Vigilance Awareness Week.
  • National Sanskrit Competition organized by NCERT in session 2006-07
  • NCR level Quiz Contest organized by Vivekanand Kendra.
  • Vigilance Awareness Week Inter –School Elocution & Painting Competition organized by CVC and KVS(DR) on 10th November 2006.
  • Our Students participated in National Award Function for Teachers at Vigyan Bhawan on 5th September 2007. They presented patriotic group songs and National Anthem in the function. It was applauded by the august gathering. Our Students getting this opportunity for the last 6 years for the presentation.
